Thanks to Obamacare, Georgia families are facing massive increases in monthly health insurance premiums. But despite higher rates and reduced access to quality care, millionaire moneyman Jim Barksdale still supports the president’s signature healthcare legislation.
“Jim Barksdale continues to put his political ambition ahead of the people,” said Ryan Mahoney, spokesperson for the Georgia Republican Party. “While Georgia families suffer under the failures of Obamacare, Barksdale unapologetically praises the healthcare overhaul. Clearly, Jim Barksdale is more concerned with his radical, fringe agenda than with the needs of Georgia consumers.”
Recently, The New York Times interviewed American families impacted by the 2017 Obamacare premium increases. William Weber, a business consultant in Atlanta who is facing a 60% spike in his premium said, “We may roll the dice next year, go without insurance and hope we have no major medical emergencies. The penalty would be less than two months of premiums.’”
“Hardworking Georgia families are hurting and all Jim Barksdale can think about is himself. It’s time for Barksdale to put party politics aside and finally admit that Obamacare deserves to be dismantled and drowned in the Potomac River.”
