In a shameless attempt to shift the focus away from the voter fraud investigation involving key Georgia Democrats, Better Georgia, the radical, left-wing attack dog of the Georgia Democratic Party, launched a baseless attack yesterday on Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
Using a nineteen-second audio clip from a Republican event earlier this year, Better Georgia claimed that Kemp’s recent investigation into the New Georgia Project is merely an effort to suppress minority voters.
When audio of Secretary Kemp’s entire speech was made available, it was clear that his comments were intentionally taken out of context from a group that has little regard for the truth. Clearly, Better Georgia is afraid of what Sec. Kemp may find.
“The complaints lodged against Stacey Abrahams and the New Georgia Project are alarming,” said GAGOP Chairman John Padgett. “But the lies spewing from the attack dogs at Better Georgia are downright ridiculous.
“Georgians – regardless of party affiliation – deserve secure, accessible, and fair elections. Attempting to smear the state’s top elections official with out-of-context audio is unconscionable and does nothing to further this investigation or preserve faith in the democratic process.
“Better Georgia should apologize to Secretary Kemp, members of the Georgia media, and Georgia voters for their intentional distortions.”
