On Sunday, President-elect Donald Trump tapped Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus to serve as his Chief of Staff. In response, Georgia Republican Party Chairman John Padgett issued the following statements:
“Reince Priebus is a trusted, conservative leader with a track record of accomplishments,” said Chairman Padgett. “As Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Priebus built the infrastructure necessary to secure majorities in Congress and put a Republican back in the White House.
“During his tenure as RNC Chairman, Reince was also a loyal friend of the Georgia Republican Party. In addition to providing sage advice and wise counsel, Chairman Priebus helped the GAGOP turn critical initiatives into reality. We are forever grateful for his friendship and steadfast support.
“We applaud President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Reince Priebus as his Chief of Staff and look forward to working together in the months and years ahead to Make America Great Again!”
