Today, Democrats launched a ruthless attack against conservative businessman David Perdue after he signed the insulin pump of a young Georgian with diabetes. In response to the despicable efforts to smear both Perdue and the young girl working to raise awareness for juvenile diabetes, Georgia Republican Party Chairman John Padgett issued the following statements:
“Michelle Nunn and her radical, left-wing supporters have reached an all-time low. Making fun of a girl with diabetes in hopes of scoring political points is nothing short of disgusting and everyone who made disparaging remarks should be ashamed of their cruel behavior.
“This girl and her family deserve an apology from Michelle Nunn, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and Buzzfeed for this blatant invasion of privacy and outrageous, desperate attack. In addition, the Nunn campaign’s tracker who violated this girl’s privacy should be fired.”
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Allen family released the following statement:
“This video is extremely disrespectful to our family and our young daughter’s privacy. We were shocked when we discovered this being taken out of context because our daughter requested to have her diabetic pump signed.
“This is something she has done with multiple other prominent figures and will continue to do in raising awareness for juvenile diabetes. We were surrounded by friends and family who understood our daughter’s desire for privacy. We hope that the media and others will respect our wishes and make this go away for our daughter and our family.”
