Over the weekend, Sandy Springs first mayor, Dr. Eva Galambos, passed away. Georgia Republican Party Chairman John Padgett issued the following statements to honor the life and legacy of this courageous leader:
“Eva Galambos left this world better than she found it,” said Chairman Padgett. “A devoted wife, proud mother, bold visionary, and tireless public servant, Dr. Galambos lived her life on purpose. From fleeing Nazi tyranny in the 1930s to pursuing cityhood for Sandy Springs, there was no challenge too big for Eva.
“While friends, family, and admirers from afar mourn Mayor Galambos’ death, we all can celebrate a life well lived. Dr. Galambos is gone but her legacy remains in Sandy Springs and in the hearts of everyone touched by her leadership, passion, and love.”
Funeral services will be held at Temple Kehillat Chaim on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of a donation to the Anne Frank in the World Exhibit, 5920 Roswell Road, Suite A209, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 or to the charity of your choice.
