Earlier today, President-elect Donald Trump nominated Georgia Congressman and physician Rep. Tom Price (GA-6) as Secretary of Health and Human Services.
“On behalf of the Georgia Republican Party and Peach State Republicans far and wide, I congratulate Congressman Tom Price on being nominated by President-elect Donald Trump as our country’s next Secretary of Health and Human Services,” said Georgia Republican Party Chairman John Padgett.
“Thanks to President Obama’s failed healthcare overhaul, insurance premiums continue to rise while sick Americans continue to suffer. We need sharp, effective leadership in Washington to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a market-driven solution that enhances the doctor-patient relationship while keeping costs low.
“Tom Price is a proven leader with a record of effectiveness in the public and private sector. In Congress, Rep. Price worked to secure our borders, protect our Constitutional Rights, and keep American families safe from terrorism. As Budget Chairman, Congressman Tom Price backed common sense, conservative policies to strengthen the U.S. economy and grow American jobs. And as a practicing physician for nearly twenty years, Dr. Price used his talents, training, and intellect to serve those in need.
“As Georgians, we know without a doubt that Congressman Tom Price is the right pick for Health and Human Services Secretary. We wish President-elect Trump and Dr. Price the very best as they work together to make America’s healthcare system great again!”
