(Atlanta, Georgia) – Under the leadership of Georgia Republican Party Chairman John Padgett and SW Regional Director Karen Kemp, the GAGOP reorganized another local party this week in Quitman County.
“As we prepare for the 2014 General Election, it is of the utmost importance to have strong infrastructure in place to spread the conservative message and get out the vote on Election Day,” said Chairman John Padgett. “In conjunction with staff and volunteers at our Southwest Regional Headquarters and local conservatives, our reorganized counties will be instrumental to victory and pivotal to the long-term growth of the Georgia Republican Party.
“I applaud the efforts of SW Regional Director Karen Kemp, Director of Development Joe Dendy, and local Georgia Republicans for their hard work and dedication. I wish all of the best to the newly elected officers and look forward to working together soon.”
Elected Chairman of the newly formed Quitman County Republican Party was Carvel Lewis, owner of the Lewis Mortuary. Also elected were Danny Blackman as Vice Chairman and Mindy Moss as Secretary and Treasurer.
Representatives from the GAGOP in attendance were Joseph Brannan, Chairman 2nd Congressional District; Karen Kemp, GA GOP SW Georgia Director; and, Joe Dendy, GA GOP Director of Party Development.
Quitman County is the tenth county to be newly organized since Chairman Padgett was elected.
