SEN. JASON CARTER OPPOSES HB990, STANDS AGAINST ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY

February 18, 2014

(Atlanta, GA) – Atlanta liberal Senator Jason Carter continues to befuddle voters with his naive views of state government and his out-of-touch positions on Georgia’s most pressing issues.  In response to Sen. Carter’s rejection of HB 990, which would require legislative approval to expand Medicaid in Georgia, the Georgia Republican Party issued the following statement:

“Senator Jason Carter’s position on House Bill 990 is absolutely baffling,” said Ryan Mahoney, spokesperson for the Georgia Republican Party.  “Giving state legislators a voice and vote in the Medicaid Expansion debate enhances accountability and improves transparency in state government.   Clearly, Carter is more concerned with what his radical, big government friends want than what’s best for the people of Georgia.”
