Georgia GOP Calls On Democrat Senate Candidates To Refuse Chuck Schumer’s Support Following Supreme Court Threat

Atlanta, GA – Yesterday, Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer made an unprecedented threat against two sitting United States Supreme Court Justices. In a speech on the steps of the court, Schumer mentioned Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh by name, warning, “You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price!” He continued with his vague threat, stating “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Schumer’s reprehensible remarks earned quick rebukes not only Chief Justice John Roberts but also the American Bar Association, who asserted that his comments “challenge the reputation of the third, co-equal branch of our government; the independence of the judiciary; and the personal safety of judicial officers.

“By openly threatening our Supreme Court Justices, Chuck Schumer is setting an alarming and dangerous precedent that could threaten the integrity of our courts and the values of the Constitution,” said Georgia Republican Party Executive Director Stewart Bragg. “With two United States Senate seats on the ballot in our state this November, we call on every Democrat candidate for those races in Georgia to refuse any support – monetary or otherwise – from Schumer and his allies. Protecting our Supreme Court comes before partisan politics and Chuck Schumer has made it clear that his leadership of the Senate would threaten our impartial judicial system.”
