GAGOP Statement on President Trump’s US Supreme Court Nominee Amy Coney Barrett
ATLANTA, GA – Georgia Republican Party Chairman David Shafer today issued a statement applauding the President for his nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the United States Supreme Court.
Shafer said: “Judge Barrett has led a life filled with profound academic, professional and judicial accomplishments while making a home with her husband and raising seven children.
“She is superbly qualified for the Supreme Court. In nominating her, President Trump underscores his commitment to a Supreme Court that respects the Constitution and interprets the laws of this nation as written and intended.
“The Senate confirmed Judge Barrett to the Court of Appeals in 2017 by a bipartisan vote. I call on Senate Democrats to treat her nomination to the Supreme Court with dignity, fairness and respect.”
