GA GOP: Grateful Senators Perdue And Loeffler Are Fighting For Election Integrity

ATLANTA, GA  – Following Senator David Perdue and Senator Kelly Loeffler speaking out in support of the President Donald J. Trump campaign’s request for a recount of the November 3, 2020 election in Georgia, State Party Executive Director Stewart Bragg released this statement:

“We’re grateful to have two Senators who fully support President Trump’s request for a fully transparent recount for the presidential election in our state,” said Georgia Republican Party Executive Director Stewart Bragg. “It shouldn’t be controversial to say that every legal vote should be counted and illegal votes should not be counted, but the Democrats and the media have made it that way. We’re fortunate to have Senator Perdue and Senator Loeffler fighting for election integrity. They are the only candidates we can count on to fight for fair elections.”

Senator David Perdue said:

“I support President Trump’s request for a recount in Georgia, one in which signatures on absentee ballot envelopes are properly matched and verified to their signature on the registration. Anything less than that will not be a full and transparent recount. I have spoken to President Trump several times in the last week about this, and as I have said from the beginning: every legal vote cast, should be counted. Any illegal vote shouldn’t. Georgians deserve full transparency and uniformity in the counting process.”

Senator Kelly Loeffler said:

“I fully support President Trump’s request for a recount in Georgia. We must match and verify absentee ballot signatures to their corresponding voter registration signatures, investigate all voting irregularities, and count only the votes that were legally cast. This isn’t about politics – this is about the foundation of our democracy. Every Georgian – and every American – deserves to have confidence in the integrity of our state’s election results, and this process is the best way to make that happen.”
