Realtor and Fulton County Republican Betty Sue Voyles passed away last week at the age of 84. In honor of her longtime service to the Georgia Republican Party and other important organizations and causes in the community, Georgia Republican Party Chairman John Padgett issued the following statements:
“Long before Georgia earned its Red State status, Betty was volunteering her time and talents to the Republican Party,” said Chairman Padgett. “From working on the campaigns of Georgia’s most influential leaders and serving on the GAGOP State Committee, to volunteering at fundraising dinners and state conventions throughout Georgia, Betty was devoted to growing the Party, spreading the conservative message, and earning victory for our candidates.”
Betty earned the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award in 1998 from the Georgia Republican Party and the Connie Russell Midura Volunteer Legacy Award from the Fulton County Republican Party in 2005.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Betty’s family, friends, and loved ones. She was an inspiration to many and will be sorely missed.”
Services for Betty Sue Volyes will be held at 2PM on Thursday, July 30, at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs GA 30328. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome and should be given to Children’s HealthCare of Atlanta.
