On Small Business Saturday, countless Georgia small businesses remain open – in spite of the coronavirus pandemic – because Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue supported the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act, which saved over 1.5 million jobs in Georgia.

Democrat Jon Ossoff repeatedly attacked Perdue and Loeffler for supporting this job-saving program, saying: “the overwhelming majority of the support that the federal government is extending right now on emergency basis is for the largest firms, and even the tax benefits in the CARES Act are going to flow overwhelmingly to the highest earners.”

But it turns out that he was referring to his own father, who has contributed thousands of dollars to his son’s campaigns.

“As Georgians support our small businesses today and every day, they should remember Jon Ossoff criticized the legislation that has allowed so many of our small businesses to remain open,” said GA GOP spokeswoman Abigail Sigler. “Jon Ossoff has never created a job, and he certainly won’t fight for Georgians. He will put politics over people every chance he gets and that includes criticizing legislation that helped nearly 175 thousand Georgia small businesses. The good people of Georgia deserve better: they deserve Senators who will always work to keep our economy open and thriving. That’s Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.”
