Over the weekend, Atlanta’s homicide count tragically reached a 22-year high. Both Senator Kelly Loeffler and Senator David Perdue have spoken out against this violence.

But Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, who have both called to defund the police, have been silent.

Earlier this year, Ossoff came out in favor of defunding the police, saying that funding for law enforcement needs to be “on the line.” Raphael Warnock has said, “We need to reimagine policing and reimagine the relationships between law enforcement and communities,” and “we certainly need to demilitarize the police.”

“As Atlanta experiences a tragic uptick in homicides and violent crime, our police officers need our support now more than ever,” said GAGOP spokeswoman Abigail Sigler. “Make no mistake: Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock would defund the police the first chance they get. We need Senators who fully back our law enforcement officers, not radical liberals who seek to throw our country into chaos. Georgians who stand with law enforcement and want to keep our communities safe must support David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.”
